Hank Green Wants to be a Mentor, Not a Manager

Hank Green has retired from being a digital media CEO. What happens now?

This is the second of our CEO interview series, where our CEO sits down with others to talk about the practicalities of running a business in the creator economy.

“I'm in the process right now in my life… of trying to figure out how to not be a decider, and have everyone agree with me that I'm not a decider. Instead [I want to] be an engine, a cheerleader. I want to be fuel in your tank that nobody else has access to because I believe in what we're doing.”

Hank Green is a digital media entrepreneur, science communicator, and longtime online video creator. He founded Complexly, Subbable, VidCon, DFTBA, and The Internet Creators Guild, and continues to host the video series Crash Course and SciShow. He’s a New York Times best-selling author of two novels, and lives with his family in Montana.
