Multitude is proud to welcome our newest member show: Tiny Matters!
Dive into genes, microbes, and other tiny things that have a big impact on our world with Tiny Matters. Join scientists Sam Jones and Deboki Chakravarti as they take apart complex and contentious topics in science and rebuild your understanding. From deadly diseases to ancient sewers to forensic toxicology, Sam and Deboki embrace the messiness of science and its place in the past, present, and future. Tiny Matters releases new episodes every Wednesday.
The podcast was first launched in January 2022 by The American Chemical Society, a non-profit scientific organization that connects and advances chemistry and the broader scientific community. It won a Signal Award for Best Science Podcast in 2024, the same month that cohost Sam Jones won an Eric and Wendy Schmidt Award for Excellence in Science Communications from the National Academies of Science. This new partnership with Multitude Podcasts, a collective of professional audio creators building community through podcasts, will usher in additional reach and resources to support this extraordinary podcast.
“Tiny Matters is an award-winning podcast, recognized by both audio and scientific bodies,” says Eric Silver, Head of Development at Multitude Podcasts. “We're excited to continue to enhance what makes the show great and support Sam, Deboki, and ACS with our expertise in sustainable production and community building.”
“I first learned about Multitude a few years ago and was struck by not just the quality of the podcasts in the collective, but the incredible bond between listeners and creators,” says Sam Jones, executive producer and co-host of Tiny Matters. “I am beyond excited for Tiny Matters to be part of this community of enthusiastic, smart, compassionate people who love podcasts as much as I do.”
Co-host Deboki Chakravarti says, “One of my favorite things about the podcast world has been getting to meet and work with really creative and kind people, so I’m really excited to join the Multitude community to learn from these amazing podcasters and their listeners!”
